Casino Nova Scotia Sydney hosted their 11th annual Monte Carlo Casino Fundraiser
Casino Nova Scotia Sydney hosted its 11th annual Monte Carlo fundraiser. This year was an amazing success raising $60,000 in net revenues for their charity of choice, the Cape Breton YMCA. This year was a huge success; not only did Casino Nova Scotia partner with over a dozen local businesses and organizations, including Cape Breton University and the Nova Scotia Community College, but they completely sold out the event with almost 600 people in attendance.
Guinness World Record Broken at River Rock Casino Resort
On Saturday, May 12th, Spirit Cool broke the Guinness World Record for longest marathon playing guitar at River Rock Casino Resort. Spirit, who performs regularly at many Great Canadian properties, continued to play on stage for another 30 minutes for a grand total of five days, four hours and thirty minutes. Spirit was accepting donations throughout his record-breaking performance, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. River Rock donated $1,000 for every day he performed and at the end of his five-day performance Spirit raised over $10,000.
Shorelines Casino Belleville Charity Drive
Shorelines Casino Belleville held a clothing drive in support of their signature charity, Three Oaks Foundations. They donated over nine boxes and 23 bags of clothing and household goods. Three Oaks is committed to the promotion of equality and the end of violence against women and children.
Casino New Brunswick Braves the Cold for Homelessness
Casino New Brunswick participated in “Coldest Night of the Year,” where they spent an evening walking in the subzero temperature to raise money and awareness for local charities serving hungry, homeless and hurting families and youth in 120 communities across Canada. Casino New Brunswick donated $2,500 and team members raised an additional $526.
