Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino Proud to Host the Western Regional Driving Championship on April 26, 2014

Surrey, B.C (March 18, 2014): At Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino excitement is building as the venue gets ready to host the Western Regional Driving Championship on April 26, 2014.

“Now that we have finalized our racing schedule and have a defined five year racing plan, the team at Fraser Downs can focus on securing and promoting events such as the Regional Driving Championship in hopes of increasing the profile of our racing season and entertainment offerings,” said Ken Stratton, General Manager, Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino. The new racing agreement has confirmed 35 race days at Fraser Downs between January and April 2014, with another 36 race days scheduled for the fall.

The Western Regional Driving Championship is one of the four events through which the best Canadian harness drivers are selected based on their driving averages, wins and earnings in relation to their driving circuit as well as the ability to be a representative of Canadian harness racing industry. The top two drivers from the Western Regional division will advance to the National Driving Championship which will be held at the Red Shores Racetrack and Casino in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on August 26, 2014.

In 2009, Fraser Downs had the honor of hosting the National Driving Championship where Brad Forward, a native of Newfoundland, secured the national title when he brought home Kg Mattattack in 1:55.4 for his second win of the afternoon. Along with one second and two third-place finishes, Forward collected the winning total of 65 points.

RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS PAUL RODGERS

Richmond, BC – Musicians and critics worldwide have dubbed Paul Rodgers, “THE VOICE”. Never before has any artist led three bands to international success in addition to creating a successful solo career until Paul Rodgers. He is undeniably one of music’s most distinctive vocalists. Rodgers first shot up the international radio charts with his 1970 rock anthem, “All Right Now” with the band, Free. In 1973, he formed Bad Company who went on to release twelve albums … six of which were certified Multi-Platinum. Their hits include “Feel Like Making Love”, “Can’t Get Enough”, “Shooting Star”, “Bad Company”, “Run With The Pack” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy”. After leaving the group in 1982, he released his first solo album, Cut Loose the following year. He then teamed with Jimmy Page in 1984 to form The Firm which resulted in two albums and the hit singles, “Radioactive”, “Satisfaction Guaranteed” and “All the King’s Horses”.

In 1991, he formed The Law with drummer Kenney Jones where they produced the hit single, “Laying Down The Law” which ranked #1 on Billboard’s AOR charts. His Grammy nominated solo album, Muddy Water Blues was released two years later and celebrated Rodgers’ blues roots and respect for Muddy Waters … one of his primary influences. In 1999, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Los Angeles Music Awards Association. That summer, he hit the charts with the #1 single, “Hey, Hey” which was one of four new tracks off Bad Company’s Anthology. The second single, “Hammer of Love” reached #2 on the rock charts. His most recent studio album, The Royal Sessions was released last month and features Rodgers digging
into a set of deep Southern soul and R&B songs from the 60’s and 70’s. Recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee with many of the musicians who played on the original tracks, the album reached #1 on Billboard’s Blues Albums chart. Rodgers will be performing for one night only at the River Rock Casino
Resort on June 26, 2014.

Prism To Perform Inside Asylum At Hard Rock Casino Vancouver

COQUITLAM, BC (March 11, 2014) – Vancouver’s own hometown rockers Prism will be bringing their hits to Hard Rock Casino Vancouver’s Asylum for two exclusive shows at 9:30 pm & 11:30 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Since the two-time Juno Award-winning band formed in 1977, they have released such classics as “Spaceship Superstar”, “Take Me to the Kaptin”, “Take Me Away”, “Flyin’”, “You’re Like the Wind”, “Armageddon”, “Virginia”, “Night to Remember”, “Young and Restless” and “Don’t Let Him Know”.

Bachman & Turner will be Takin’ Care of Business at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver

COQUITLAM, BC (February 25, 2014) – Canadian rock legends Randy Bachman and Fred Turner will be bringing their classic hits to the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Bachman earned his first colossal success with The Guess Who when their 1970 hit, “American Woman” scored the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart … a first for any Canadian band. He soared even further with Turner in Bachman-Turner Overdrive which became a music phenomenon with extraordinary global success.

Over its four-year run, the band sold more than 30 million records accumulating hits in more than twenty countries. The band reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart with “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” in

River Rock Casino Resort Names Richmond Family Place as its “Signature Charitable Partner”

Richmond, B.C (February 20, 2014): Over the last ten years, River Rock Casino Resort has played an active role in the Richmond community, and most recently has confirmed its commitment by selecting Richmond Family Place as the property’s signature charitable partner.
