RICHMOND, BC (March 30, 2015) â Actress-comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member, Leslie Jones will be bringing her hilarious stand-up to the River Rock Casino Resort on Friday, May 22, 2015.
It was while she was a student attending Colorado State University that Jones made her stand-up debut after entering the collegeâs âFunniest Person on Campusâ competition which she ended up winning. She then moved to Los Angeles where she performed at various comedy clubs before making television appearances on BETâs Comic View, Comedy Centralâs Premium Blend and HBOâs DEF Comedy Jam. She went on to star in her own one-hour comedy special, Problem Child: Leslie Jones which aired on Showtime in 2010.
Her acting credits include guest-starring roles on numerous television sitcoms including TBSâ Sullivan & Son, FXâs The League and Comedy Centralâs Workaholics. She has also appeared in such feature films as National Security starring Martin Lawrence, Lottery Ticket starring Bow Wow & Ice Cube and Chris Rockâs Top Five.
Last year, she was hired by NBCâs Saturday Night Live as a writer but quickly made a name for herself after a memorable on-air appearance during the late-night showâs âWeekend Updateâ segment. Upon returning last fall for the showâs fortieth season, she found herself promoted to the cast as a featured player.
This summer, Jones will again be seen on the big screen when sheâll be appearing in two feature films ⌠Judd Apatowâs Trainwreck and Jared Hessâ Masterminds. Sheâll also begin shooting Paul Feigâs all-female Ghostbusters reboot where sheâll be starring alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10:00 am and are $39.50 & $29.50 (plus service charges). For more information and to purchase tickets, go to RiverRock.com.
