RICHMOND, BC (March 30, 2015) – Actress-comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member, Leslie Jones will be bringing her hilarious stand-up to the River Rock Casino Resort on Friday, May 22, 2015.

It was while she was a student attending Colorado State University that Jones made her stand-up debut after entering the college’s “Funniest Person on Campus” competition which she ended up winning. She then moved to Los Angeles where she performed at various comedy clubs before making television appearances on BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and HBO’s DEF Comedy Jam. She went on to star in her own one-hour comedy special, Problem Child: Leslie Jones which aired on Showtime in 2010.

Her acting credits include guest-starring roles on numerous television sitcoms including TBS’ Sullivan & Son, FX’s The League and Comedy Central’s Workaholics. She has also appeared in such feature films as National Security starring Martin Lawrence, Lottery Ticket starring Bow Wow & Ice Cube and Chris Rock’s Top Five.

Last year, she was hired by NBC’s Saturday Night Live as a writer but quickly made a name for herself after a memorable on-air appearance during the late-night show’s “Weekend Update” segment. Upon returning last fall for the show’s fortieth season, she found herself promoted to the cast as a featured player.

COQUITLAM, B.C. (March 10, 2015) – The success of last year’s Rock the Mic ™ band competition took Hard Rock Casino Vancouver by storm, and due to popular demand the competition is back starting on Thursday, March 12.

“We are thrilled to once again offer this type of entertainment option and feature local emerging talent on our stage,” said Raj Mutti, Executive Director, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

The focus of this year’s competition will be on solo and acoustic acts. Preliminaries will take place in Asylum every Thursday night until April 30. Semi-Finals will take place on May 7 and May 14 while the Finals will be held on May 28. This competition style will narrow down each week, leaving eight acts to play and compete in the final battle.

The first place winner will go home with a minimum of five confirmed bookings at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, $1,000 cash, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver merchandise, $250 gift card from Long & McQuade along with a custom pair of boots from Dayton Boots.

Richmond, BC – It was in 1969 when Roger Hodgson – widely regarded as one of the most gifted composers, songwriters and lyricists of our time – co-founded the progressive rock band Supertramp with musician Rick Davies in 1969. Hodgson wrote and sang most of the classic hits that brought the band worldwide acclaim selling over 60 million albums through the 70’s and early 80’s. He gave us such amazingly enduring songs as “Dreamer”, “Give a Little Bit”, “Fool’s Overture”, “The Logical Song”, “Breakfast In America”, “Take the Long Way Home”, “Lord Is It Mine” and “It’s Raining Again”.

After leaving the band in 1983, Hodgson released his debut solo album, In the Eye of the Storm which quickly became an international hit selling over two million copies while being certified Platinum in Canada. During the years that followed, he released two additional albums. His most recent album, Classics Live – a stunning collection of his best-loved songs recorded in concert – was released in 2010. Today, he continues to perform the songs he wrote and sang while with Supertramp in the same passionate spirit in which they were created. COQUITLAM, BC (March 3, 2015) – British New Wave rockers The Fixx are gearing up for a North American tour this summer which will include a date at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

Formed in London in 1979 by college friends, frontman Cy Curnin and drummer Adam Woods, the band originally called themselves The Portraits before changing their name to The Fixx in 1980. After being signed to MCA Records the following year, they released their debut album, Shuttered Room in 1982. The album featured the singles, “Stand or Fall” and “Red Skies”.

Their 1983 release, Reach the Beach spawned the hit single, “Saved by Zero” and their highest charting single, “One Thing Leads to Another” which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album went on to attain Platinum certification while hitting #8 on the Billboard 200. Additional hits from later albums included “Are We Ourselves?”, “Sunshine in the Shade”, “Deeper and Deeper”, “Built for the Future”, “Secret Separation” and “Driven Out”. COQUITLAM, BC – Juno Award-winning Canadian bands Honeymoon Suite and Streetheart will be rocking the stage at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Friday, May 8, 2015.

It was in 1982 when lead singer Johnny Dee, lead guitarist Derry Grehan and drummer Dave Betts founded Honeymoon Suite in their hometown of Niagara Falls. The group’s self-titled debut album was released in 1984 and featured the hit singles, “New Girl Now”, “Burning in Love”, “Stay in the Light” and “Wave Babies”. Two years later, they released their second album, The Big Prize which spawned the hit singles, “Bad Attitude”, “Feel It Again”, “What Does It Take” and “All Along You Knew”. Both albums reached Platinum status in Canada while the singles were certified Gold. Additional hits from later albums included “Love Changes Everything”, “Lookin’ Out for Number One” and “It’s Over Now”.

Formed in Winnipeg by frontman Kenny Shields, keyboardist Daryl Gutheil and bassist Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve in 1977, Streetheart has earned a total of six Gold albums and four Platinum albums. They topped the charts with a non-stop string of hits including “Action”, “Hollywood”, “Under My Thumb”, “Tin Soldier”, “What Kind of Love is This”, “Snow White”, “Look In Your Eyes” and “One More Time”.
