Richmond, BC – Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and two-time Grammy Award nominee, Chris Isaak began performing after graduating from college when he formed the rockabilly band Silvertone. It was then in 1985 when he released his first album, Silvertone followed two years later by Chris Isaak. His third album, Heart Shaped World was released in 1989 and spawned the single, “Wicked Game” which went on to be featured in David Lynch’s Wild at Heart. The single ended up becoming a Top 10 hit while the album sold over one million copies. He went on to release four more albums during the 90’s.

His most recent album, Beyond the Sun was released in 2011 and is a tribute to the influential sounds of Sun Records and the artists who helped shape rock & roll including Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis. Isaac has also enjoyed a successful acting career appearing in such films as Married to the Mob, The Silence of the Lambs and That Thing You Do! Additionally he starred in his own sitcom, The Chris Isaak Show which aired on Showtime for three seasons and just last month, he
guest starred on an episode of TV Land’s hit sitcom, Hot in Cleveland. Isaak and his band are currently gearing up for their summer tour across North America which will include a date at the River Rock Casino Resort on July 25, 2014.

COQUITLAM, BC (May 16, 2014) – Hard Rock Casino Vancouver is putting an official call out to all rock stars as auditions for the first-ever Rock The Mic competition begin next month. Rock The Mic is a summer-long battle of the bands which will aim to crown “the best of the best” live on the stage of the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

All events are free and open to the public 19+ starting with auditions on June 14 & 15 in the Theatre. Preliminaries take place in Asylum every Thursday from June 19 to August 21. Semi-Finals take place on August 28 and September 4 while the Finals will be held on September 11.

The 13-week competition will begin with sixty artists – solo, duo and group – with the field being narrowed down each week to five finalists. The Top Five will then meet in the final battle to crown the King of the Stage.

Prizes include over $7000 in cash and a confirmed one-year contract to play at the Hard Rock Casino
Vancouver.

Richmond, BC – Iconic axeman Yngwie Malmsteen will be joining forces this summer with fellow guitar virtuosos Uli Jon Roth, Gary Hoey and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal for the first-ever Guitar Gods festival tour. Hailed by TIME Magazine as one of the “10 Greatest Electric Guitar Players of All Time”, Malmsteen will headline the tour. “Fans can expect the unexpected,” he said. “I raise the bar with every performance I do and this tour will be no exception.”

Roth will be bringing the 40th anniversary Scorpions set that he’s been playing to audiences from Europe to North America digging deep into their catalogue while Hoey will perform his hits including “Hocus Pocus”. Bumblefoot – who has been Guns N’ Roses’ lead guitarist since 2006 – will be thrilling fans with songs from his entire critically praised recorded history.

Richmond, BC – Paving the way for women in hip-hop, Salt-N-Pepa – Cheryl James (“Salt”) and Sandra Denton (“Pepa”) – have sold over fifteen million albums worldwide. It was in 1986 when they released their debut album, Hot, Cool & Vicious which spawned the chart-topping single, “Push It”. The group went on to record several hits throughout the late 80’s and 90’s including “Let’s Talk About Sex”, “Shoop” and “Whatta Man”.

After receiving three Grammy nominations for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group”, they earned a Grammy Award for their 1995 single, “None of Your Business”. In 2007, they starred in the reality television series, The Salt-N-Pepa Show which aired on VH1. Richmond, BC – Formed in Brooklyn, New York after the break-up of frontman Craig Finn and guitarist Tad Kubler’s former band, Lifter Puller, indie rock band The Hold Steady released their debut album, Almost Killed Me in 2004. While the album did not receive a lot of airplay, it was praised by critics for Finn’s incisive lyrics. The following year, they released their next album, Separation Sunday on Frenchkiss Records with critics hailing the group as one of indie rock’s most promising young bands. They came to prominence in 2006 after their third album, Boys and Girls in America was released on the higher-profile indie label, Vagrant and featured the singles, “Stuck Between Stations” and “Chillout Tent” which was ranked #33 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Best Songs Of 2006”.

The band’s 2008 album, Stay Positive – which featured the singles, “Sequestered in Memphis” and “Constructive Summer” – became their first album to reach the Billboard 200. They went on to release a live album, A Positive Rage in 2009 and their fifth studio album, Heaven Is Whenever in 2010. After a brief hiatus in 2012, the group returned to the studio that summer to record the track, “The Bear and the
Maiden Fair” for the Game of Thrones: Season 3 soundtrack which was also released as a limited edition single. Last month, they released their sixth studio album, Teeth Dreams which features the single, “I
Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You”. Today’s line-up consists of Finn, Kubler, drummer Bobby Drake, bassist Galen Polivka and guitarist Steve Selvidge.
